School Janitor Floor Care

Perform school janitorial work with modern cleaning methods and floor care skills under an Assistant Custodial Supervisor’s supervision.
The Annapolis Valley Regional Centre for Education seeks a janitor for assigned school areas. The successful candidate cleans daily, maintains supplies, identifies safety hazards, and follows established practices and standards. Duties also include building security, snow and ice control, and general clean-ups.
Key Responsibilities:
Clean assigned school areas daily according to established standards
Maintain sufficient supplies for janitorial duties
Perform stripping, sealing, waxing, and burnishing
Secure doors, windows, and security systems when required
Control snow, ice, litter, and trash around premises
Requirements:
Physical ability to perform assigned janitorial duties
Knowledge of modern cleaning methods and practices
Ability to recognize safety hazards throughout premises
Ability to work with minimal supervision
Criminal Record Check and Child Abuse Registry search form
