Support young children through play-based learning as an Early Childhood Educator at LE Shaw Elementary School. Work five hours daily during the 2026-2027 school year.
Reporting to the School Principal, you will support the Lead Early Childhood Educator within the Pre-primary Program Team. Your work will help maintain a secure, engaging environment focused on children’s holistic development and well-being. You will use the Nova Scotia Early Learning Curriculum Framework and developmentally appropriate practices.
Key Responsibilities:

Support the Lead Early Childhood Educator collaboratively
Help create engaging learning environments for children
Encourage exploration and social interaction
Support evidence-based practices and professional judgement
Assist consistent program delivery and assessment
Requirements:

Diploma in Early Childhood Education
Minimum three years’ recent preschool experience
Knowledge of play-based, child-centered pedagogy
Experience observing, documenting, and assessing development
Valid First Aid and Food Handlers certification
Bring early childhood knowledge, communication skills, and inclusive practice to support high-quality learning at LE Shaw Elementary School.
