Class 1 Waste Collection Driver

Operate GFL Environmental collection vehicles in Fort St. John with Class 1 licensing, hydraulic systems expertise, and safety focus. Support reliable customer service across assigned routes.
As a Class 1 Swing Driver, you will safely operate Roll Off, Front End, Residential, and other trucks. The work requires commercial driving experience, hydraulic packer operation, route productivity, and careful vehicle inspections. You will support efficient waste and recycling collection while meeting safety, service, and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Safely operate assigned GFL collection vehicles and complete routes
Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
Operate hydraulic and compaction systems using proper techniques
Report mechanical issues, hazards, and safety incidents promptly
Maintain vehicle cleanliness and customer service standards
Requirements:
Valid Class 1 Driver’s License and clean Driver’s Abstract
Minimum one year of relevant commercial driving experience
Ability to operate heavy collection vehicles and hydraulic packers
Ability to meet safety-sensitive operational standards
Flexibility for early starts, overtime, and physical demands
Bring Class 1 driving, equipment operation, inspections, and customer service skills to GFL Environmental’s Fort St. John routes.
