This physician appointment supports the Division of Endocrinology, Vancouver Acute, within Vancouver Coastal Health. The successful applicant provides specialty diabetes care alongside general internal medicine and endocrine consultation. Clinical communication, collaboration, and longitudinal follow-up are central to practice.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage diabetes mellitus, including insulin therapy cases
Use diabetes technology in complex clinical management
Assess and treat endocrine and metabolic disorders
Initiate and adjust pharmacological treatments
Coordinate referring physicians and healthcare professionals
Requirements:
Internal Medicine postgraduate specialty training completed
Eligibility for provisional or regular British Columbia licensure
Demonstrated diabetes assessment and management experience
Familiarity with continuous glucose monitoring
Excellent clinical communication and collaborative practice skills
Support specialty diabetes patients through contemporary technology, treatment planning, coordinated care, and strong clinical collaboration.
