Occupational Therapist Geriatric Psychiatry

Support geriatric psychiatry rehabilitation at Villa Caritas through functional assessment and treatment within an acute inpatient hospital. Work days as part of a multidisciplinary team.
As an Occupational Therapist I, you will provide primarily clinical services for individuals living with dementia, psychiatric illnesses, and medical comorbidities. Your practice includes client-centred case management, discharge planning, cognitive assessments, and rehabilitation across varied clinical areas. You will collaborate with hospital staff, community agencies, and an interdisciplinary team.
Key Responsibilities:
Complete functional assessments and occupational therapy treatments
Provide client-centred case management and discharge planning
Deliver cognitive assessments and rehabilitation interventions
Consult with hospital staff and community agencies
Supervise therapist assistant staff during rehabilitation delivery
Requirements:
Graduate of an Occupational Therapy program or recognized equivalent
Active registration with the Alberta College of Occupational Therapists
Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider Level C certification
Experience working in acute care preferred
Experience with geriatric psychiatry populations preferred
