The newly created Staff AI Engineer position carries significant technical ownership across AI, data, and software platforms. You will establish roadmaps, architectural standards, and reliable integration patterns for production-grade solutions. Core technologies include RAG, commercial and open-source models, AWS, microservices, and REST APIs.
Key Responsibilities:
Define AI development priorities and technical roadmaps
Design retrieval, model integration, and fallback strategies
Collaborate with engineering and product stakeholders
Provide technical leadership and engineer mentorship
Integrate AI with Node.js/TypeScript applications
Requirements:
Seven-plus years of professional software engineering experience
Five-plus years building production AI/ML systems
Advanced Node.js, TypeScript, API, and backend architecture skills
Experience with commercial APIs and open-source models
Strong communication with technical and product stakeholders
Bring staff-level architecture, AI platform leadership, and cloud-native engineering expertise to production systems in Toronto.
