Shaft and Hoisting Systems Engineer

Lead shaft and hoisting engineering oversight with Peter Lucas Project Management, focusing on safe, reliable, compliant mine operations. Support critical assets.
This Shaft and Hoisting Systems Engineer provides technical leadership across drum and friction hoists, conveyances, wire ropes, braking systems, and controls. The position supports mine infrastructure integrity, equipment reliability, and ongoing improvements. Collaboration spans Operations, Maintenance, and Project teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide technical oversight for shaft and hoisting systems
Support shafts, headframes, guides, buntons, and infrastructure
Review designs, modifications, upgrades, and technical specifications
Oversee inspections, testing, maintenance, NDT, and rope testing
Investigate failures and recommend reliability improvements
Requirements:
Degree in Mechanical, Mining, or related Engineering discipline
Professional Engineer designation or APEGS registration eligibility
Experience with shaft infrastructure and hoisting systems
Knowledge of mining regulations and hoist equipment
Strong communication, problem-solving, and technical leadership skills
