Principal SoC Design Engineer

Lead semiconductor architecture, RTL, and circuit design at Microchip Technology Inc. with technical ownership across the product lifecycle.
As a Principal Engineer supporting Design Engineering, you will define technical direction, architectures, methodologies, and reusable solutions. Your work spans integration, verification, performance, power, area, documentation, and product lifecycle activities. The position suits candidates with ten or more years of relevant semiconductor or electronic design experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop semiconductor architectures, RTL, circuits, IP, interfaces, and subsystems
Translate product and system needs into design requirements and plans
Analyze simulations, timing, power, area, risks, and technical tradeoffs
Debug design, integration, verification, and product issues
Coordinate outcomes across architecture, design, verification, DFT, and manufacturing teams
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, physics, or related field
Ten or more years of relevant semiconductor or electronic design experience
Experience with RTL, circuits, architecture, simulation, synthesis, or integration
Analytical thinking and structured problem-solving skills
Clear communication, documentation, collaboration, and sound judgment
