Geriatric Neuropsychiatry Registered Practical Nurse

Provide specialized mental health nursing care in Whitby as a Registered Practical Nurse supporting older adults with complex dementia-related behaviours.
Ontario Shores Centre for Mental Health Sciences seeks a Registered Practical Nurse for its Geriatric and Neuropsychiatry Program. The assignment supports assessment, stabilization, treatment, and management within a new 20-bed inpatient unit. Care follows a recovery-focused model built on compassion, inspiration, and hope.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide specialized care for patients with complex mental illnesses
Assess and stabilize dementia-related behaviours
Deliver medications, interventions, and documented care
Support transitions to long-term care or referring organizations
Work across Ontario Shores as patient needs dictate
Requirements:
Hold good-standing registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario
Maintain current CPR-Health Care Provider certification
Apply psychiatric mental health nursing standards, policies, and legislation
Work effectively within multidisciplinary teams
Be available to work shifts and meet physical demands
