Residential Reintegration Support Worker
Phoenix Drug & Alcohol Recovery and Education Society
Support community reintegration at Phoenix Society’s Rising Sun as a part-time Residential Support Worker monitoring residents and responding to emergencies.
This permanent weekend position supports residents transitioning from Federal Correctional Institutions. You will supervise clients, assess risks and needs, document activities, and build therapeutic relationships while collaborating with Corrections Service Canada, police, and community partners.
Key Responsibilities:
Monitor residents and complete house walks across CRF floors
Support community reintegration plans through accurate documentation
Respond rapidly to emergencies under established protocols
Report breaches, unsafe behaviour, and medical emergencies
Assist with medication, food delivery, and resident needs
Requirements:
Grade 12 and Community Social Service certificate
One year related experience with marginalized populations
Ability to assess risks and understand offender behaviour
Strong counselling, communication, and crisis intervention skills
First Aid Level 1 with CPR and NVCI certification
