As a Residential Mortgage Underwriter within Third Party Residential Underwriting-MBBS, you will assess incoming applications within authorized limits. The position supports Canadian mortgage broker clients through policy adherence, risk assessment, and service excellence. You will work with brokers, insurers, appraisers, title insurance companies, and solicitors.
Key Responsibilities:
Adjudicate mortgage applications within established authority limits
Review documentation carefully and complete required due diligence
Prepare mortgage commitments with appropriate conditions
Interact with mortgage insurers during credit decisions
Prioritize high-volume workflow and maintain service excellence
Requirements:
Minimum two years of mortgage underwriting experience
Completed post-secondary education or equivalent work experience
Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills
Ability to manage pressure and tight turnaround times
Working knowledge of Windows and Microsoft Office products
Bring mortgage underwriting, risk assessment, and relationship-management skills to First National’s Montreal residential lending team.
