Operate heavy equipment in Kamloops while supporting road repair and maintenance as a permanent, full-time Equipment Operator V - Streets.
The City of Kamloops seeks an Equipment Operator V - Streets for complex street operations. This lead role involves equipment operation, safe work practices, and guidance for junior operators and crew members. Work supports local transportation and road maintenance activities.
Key Responsibilities:

Operate and maintain a variety of heavy equipment
Complete complex street operations safely
Support road repair and maintenance activities
Provide guidance to junior operators and crew members
Maintain safe work practices during operations
Requirements:

Completion of senior secondary school or equivalent
Valid Class 1 BC Driver's Licence with air brakes
One year's tandem axle driving experience in city traffic
Three months operating rollers, loaders, and backhoes
500 hours operating a grader for road maintenance
Bring heavy equipment operation, grader experience, and safe leadership to road maintenance serving Kamloops streets and transportation.
