Math Classroom Tutor KPU

Support math learning at KPU as an on-site Classroom Tutor assisting students in temporary part-time upgrading classes. Use fundamental numeracy and tutoring skills.
This Classroom Tutor reports to the Instructor at a Learning Centre for students enrolled in upgrading courses. You will assist faculty working with students experiencing mental health and addictions-related challenges. The work includes planned instruction, student monitoring, collaborative tutoring, and progress data collection. Occasional travel between KPU campuses is required.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist faculty with planned small-group and individual instruction
Monitor student work identified and planned by faculty
Tutor students collaboratively through questions and specific encouragement
Promote student independence and facilitate peer interactions
Collect performance and progress data using faculty systems
Requirements:
Complete a criminal background check for vulnerable-adult work
Experience working as a tutor preferred
Willingness to implement varied learning strategies
Fundamental numeracy through advanced high-school level
Ability to relate to diverse students and work collaboratively
Bring math tutoring, student support, and collaborative instruction skills to KPU’s Learning Centre for upgrading students.
