Lead complex structural design as a hands-on Technical Director, applying advanced analysis across steel, concrete, masonry, and timber.
This senior technical specialist guides multiple project teams across major data centre, logistics, energy, pharma, retail, and development projects. You will solve non-standard engineering challenges, shape design standards, and support a Centre of Excellence focused on quality, innovation, and continuous improvement. The work combines technical depth with practical engineering judgement.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead technical design for complex structural projects
Develop efficient, elegant, and buildable structural solutions
Review high-risk designs and provide specialist guidance
Support teams with alternative engineering approaches
Improve technical processes through lessons learned
Requirements:
Chartered Engineer status: CEng MIStructE or CEng MICE
Significant consultancy experience in structural design
Deep understanding of structural behaviour
Experience solving complex, non-standard engineering problems
Excellent communication and commercial awareness
Bring structural analysis, technical leadership, and engineering judgement to complex projects while influencing quality across the business.
