Healthcare Legal Services General Counsel

This Manager, Legal Services and General Counsel leads contractual and legal services for LHSC. The role advises on health law, civil litigation, privacy, contracts, regulatory matters, and high-risk patient issues. Reporting to the Director, the Manager collaborates with leadership, external counsel, insurers, and internal stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
Direct and evaluate contractual and legal service delivery
Advise on complex claims, litigation risks, and regulatory matters
Lead legal reviews and assess liability, compliance, and organizational risk
Manage staffing, resources, budgets, improvement initiatives, and change management
Develop relationships across teams and with external partners
Requirements:
Juris Doctor degree or equivalent qualification
Ontario Bar call and Law Society standing
Three to five years’ related experience preferred
One to three years’ progressive leadership experience preferred
Knowledge of Ontario health law, contracts, privacy, and litigation
Bring legal judgment, contract expertise, and healthcare risk knowledge to LHSC’s General Counsel leadership role in Ontario.
