Transfer Facility Heavy Equipment Operator
CITY OF KENORA
Operate loaders, dozers, and trucks for the City of Kenora across transfer facility, landfill, and seasonal roads operations. Night and weekend shifts apply.
This permanent, full-time operator works at the Transfer Facility during six summer months and with Roads during six winter months. Duties include waste hauling, snow clearing, road maintenance, equipment checks, and minor service tasks. The position requires an Ontario AZ licence and heavy equipment knowledge.
Key Responsibilities:
Haul waste with truck and trailer to the landfill
Operate loaders, dozers, rock trucks, and specialized equipment
Perform pre-operational checks and minor service tasks
Complete scheduled road and street maintenance operations
Coordinate tasks involving multiple pieces of equipment
Requirements:
Grade 12 diploma or equivalency
Clean, valid Ontario AZ Driver’s License
Three to five years’ related experience considered an asset
Knowledge of road maintenance or solid waste operations
Ability to follow instructions and work safely
Bring heavy equipment operation, safe work practices, and service-focused communication to seasonal City of Kenora operations.
