Director Business Development FCM
Federation of Canadian Municipalities
Lead business development strategy and funding diversification for FCM’s Programs and Networks portfolio through a primarily virtual work model.
The Director provides strategic and operational leadership for growth across domestic and international programming. This role develops partnerships, funding opportunities, and innovative program concepts aligned with FCM’s priorities, municipal needs, and organizational capacity.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead business development strategy and long-term growth priorities
Identify, assess, and prioritize funding opportunities
Develop concept notes, business cases, and funding proposals
Build partnerships with governments, municipalities, and institutional stakeholders
Supervise and coach the Business Development Advisor
Requirements:
University degree or equivalent education and experience
Minimum 10 years of progressively responsible related experience
Experience leading growth or funding diversification strategies
Strong analytical, writing, communication, and relationship-building skills
Fluency in English and French strongly preferred
Bring strategic leadership, proposal development, and partnership expertise to FCM’s business development and funding diversification work.
