Healthcare Laundry Aide
The Salvation Army Canada and Bermuda Territory
Support resident care through laundry services with The Salvation Army, using infection control and equipment-handling practices in a health centre.
Reporting to the Facilities and Environmental Manager, the Laundry Aide cares for linen supplies and residents’ personal clothing. The work follows health and safety, infection control, and quality management guidelines. Strong customer service and communication support resident safety, dignity, and satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
Receive, sort, wash, dry, and deliver laundry
Label residents’ clothing respectfully to prevent loss
Report machine malfunctions to the manager
Clean laundry areas and maintain supplies
Follow safety, infection control, and quality policies
Requirements:
Minimum grade 10 education
Previous housekeeping experience
Ability to read and write English
Understanding of chemicals, equipment, and infection control
Strong customer service and communication skills
Bring laundry care, equipment awareness, and resident-focused customer service to The Salvation Army Meighen Health Centre.
