Mechanics of Materials Teaching Assistant

Teach Mechanics of Materials I in person on the University of Ottawa Main Campus, using strong course knowledge and English communication.
This CUPE teaching assistant position supports CVG2140B during the 2027 Winter Semester. Six positions are available for the Civil Engineering course, with work focused on student contact, grading, and proctoring. The appointment runs from January 1 through April 30, 2027, for 130 total hours.
Key Responsibilities:
Support students during 60 contact hours
Grade course work for 60 hours
Proctor assessments for six hours
Complete four hours of other assigned tasks
Requirements:
Excellent background knowledge in Mechanics of Materials I
Excellent oral communication skills in English
P.Eng. or EIT status prioritized
Bilingualism considered an asset
Availability for the 2027 Winter Semester
