Mechanical Engineering Teaching Assistant

Apply mechanical engineering knowledge as a Teaching Assistant for Design of Artificial Organs at Main Campus during Winter 2027. The work is in person.
The University of Ottawa seeks two Teaching Assistants for MCG4152 in the Department of Mechanical Engineering. Support the course supervisor through weekly dissection labs, equipment setup, student consultations, marking, and proctoring. The appointment runs from January 1 through April 30, 2027, for 130 total hours.
Key Responsibilities:

Conduct weekly dissection laboratories for enrolled students
Set up equipment before laboratory activities
Provide consultations to students during the course
Mark student work and proctor the final exam
Assist the course supervisor with teaching activities
Requirements:

Successfully completed undergraduate mechanical engineering courses
Exceptional knowledge of free body diagrams and engineering mechanics
Good knowledge of engineering materials and manufacturing processes
Ability to work with basic hand tools
Excellent communication and in person availability
Support Design of Artificial Organs students with laboratory instruction, engineering mechanics, equipment setup, and course assessment.
