Senior Electromechanical Product Designer
Smart Skin
Design sophisticated electromechanical container twins as a Senior Mechanical Designer at SmartSkin, packaging electronics within production-ready customer-specific products.
This hands-on Fredericton role covers mechanical design from first concept through volume production. You will collaborate with electrical and firmware engineers on board outlines, connectors, antenna keep-outs, and thermal paths. Your work supports food-contact and pharma-grade material decisions, chemical compatibility, sealing, and documentation for global packaging customers.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop container twins and accessories through production
Integrate electronics into unique shapes and configurations
Select materials for customer, chemical, food, and pharma requirements
Maintain IP-rated joints through cleaning and wash-down cycles
Work with assembly teams, machine shops, and moulders
Requirements:
Seven or more years designing electromechanical products
At least one product taken through volume production
Experience with CNC milling, turning, moulding, and printing
Ability to explain decisions to teams, partners, and customers
Regular office work in Fredericton, with travel for regional candidates
