Senior Hardware Reliability Engineering Manager

Lead hardware reliability and lifecycle management for Ciena in Ottawa, guiding multidisciplinary teams across packet and optical networking products.
This senior engineering leadership role spans product development, qualification, manufacturing, sustaining, field support, and end-of-life. You will direct reliability engineering, failure analysis, manufacturability, supply continuity, and technical support. The position requires expertise in electrical, optical, FPGA, SerDes, memory, interface, power, and product-quality investigations.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead multidisciplinary hardware engineering teams across product lifecycles
Direct reliability predictions, failure investigations, and laboratory capabilities
Analyze qualification, manufacturing, field-return, and reliability data
Drive corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives
Support product quality, manufacturability, and technical investigations
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in electrical, computer, or related engineering
10+ years hardware engineering experience in relevant industries
3+ years leading engineering teams or technical initiatives
Experience with reliability, qualification, manufacturing, and root-cause analysis
Ability to lead complex electrical, optical, and power investigations
