Medical Laboratory Assistant Phlebotomist

Support laboratory operations through specimen collection, preparation, and patient registration as a Medical Laboratory Assistant / Phlebotomist. Work includes pre- and post-analytical support.
This position assists with routine technical and laboratory support procedures. Responsibilities include receiving specimens, entering orders, maintaining inventories, and supporting patients. The role also includes reception, messaging, mail, and general office duties within Horizon Health Network.
Key Responsibilities:

Collect, receive, and prepare patient specimens
Register patients and enter laboratory orders
Provide information to patients during registration
Perform routine cleaning, sterilization, and decontamination
Maintain inventories and provide reception services
Requirements:

Graduate of a Medical Laboratory Assistant program or equivalent
Successfully challenge the Canadian Society for Medical Laboratory Science exam
Attend work on a regular basis
Perform the duties of the position
Maintain a good work record
Apply laboratory assistant expertise in specimen processing, patient communication, quality assurance, and safe work practices.
