Support emergency care at Selkirk Regional Health Centre using patient care techniques, safe handling, and clear communication during evening shifts.
The Health Care Aide works within Interlake-Eastern Regional Health Authority’s Emergency department. Under Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse direction, this clinical support position assists with personal needs and activities of daily living. The role requires nursing process awareness, confidentiality, and respectful care.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist clients, patients, and residents with personal needs
Perform duties related to activities of daily living
Follow established policies, procedures, and nursing direction
Support assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation processes
Work effectively in a demanding emergency environment
Requirements:
Health Care Aide Certificate from a recognized educational institute
Current Basic Cardiac Life Support certification
Knowledge of safe patient handling techniques
Ability to follow verbal and written communication
Satisfactory criminal record, abuse registry, and employment checks
Bring respectful patient support, safe handling knowledge, and dependable communication to the Emergency team in Selkirk.
