Support student safety as a Casual On-Call Crossing Guard with Burnaby School District, using traffic safety knowledge outdoors in all weather.
This position supports students arriving and departing from school throughout the district. You will build trust, reinforce proper behaviours, and promote adherence to safety rules. Experience with children or adolescents, communication, and conflict resolution support the work.
Key Responsibilities:
Support students arriving at school safely
Support students departing from school safely
Build trust and respect with students
Model and reinforce proper behaviours
Promote adherence to traffic safety rules
Requirements:
Grade 12 education
Experience working with children or adolescents
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Knowledge of traffic safety
Ability to stand or walk for one-hour shifts outdoors
Bring student support, traffic safety, and relationship-building skills to Burnaby School District crossing guard assignments.
