This Island Health training opportunity combines theory and practicum for staff preparing to work in the Perinatal specialty department. Registered Nurses provide direct nursing care under department leadership and follow competency guidelines, policies, and BCCNM Standards. Patient and staff safety remain shared responsibilities across the position.
Key Responsibilities:
Complete theory and practicum for Perinatal specialty training
Plan and provide direct nursing care
Follow unit philosophy, competency guidelines, and policies
Apply BCCNM Standards for Nursing Practice
Support continuous quality and safety improvement
Requirements:
Practicing RN registration with BC College of Nurses and Midwives
Recent related medical and surgical experience
Effective verbal and written communication skills
Ability to organize workload and set priorities
Required BCIT and Island Health course prerequisites
Bring Registered Nurse registration, direct care experience, and organized communication to Perinatal training at Campbell River Hospital.
