Indigenous Student Support Assistant

Help promote Indigenous cultural awareness as a Casual Educational Assistant at St. Andrew’s School in High Prairie, Alberta, supporting student wellbeing.
This casual position fills in for regular Educational Assistants as needed during the 2026-2027 school year. Working under teacher supervision, you will support Indigenous students’ academic, social, and emotional wellbeing. You may also assist learners requiring individualized programs, modifications, or accommodations.
Key Responsibilities:
Build positive relationships with Indigenous students
Promote understanding of Indigenous culture and appreciation
Support academic, social, and emotional student wellbeing
Assist classroom learning and individualized student needs
Provide support for modifications, enrichment, and accommodations
Requirements:
Good working knowledge of Indigenous culture preferred
Teacher Assistant Diploma or related education equivalent preferred
Professional, confidential conduct in school settings
Technology proficiency and strong communication skills
Criminal Record Check and Intervention check required
Use cultural understanding, communication, and individualized learning support to serve Indigenous students at St. Andrew’s School.
