Fashion Technical Product Developer
Smash + Tess
Shape technical garment details with fit, construction, and sourcing knowledge at Smash + Tess in Richmond, BC, through a three-month contract.
As an Assistant Product Developer, you will help translate design concepts into production-ready garments. The work spans first prototype fittings, pre-production samples, size sets, and top-of-production samples. You will collaborate with the Designer, review samples against tech packs, and preserve a cohesive style history while maintaining quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Work with Designer on seasonal product development
Establish desired garment look and fit
Measure samples and review construction before fittings
Maintain fit standards throughout development stages
Present solutions for yarn and fabric quality issues
Requirements:
Two or more years in garment product development
Extensive understanding of construction, production, and fit
Strong knowledge of raw materials and sourcing
Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
Ability to manage multiple projects with attention to detail
