Construction Health Safety Specialist

Protect Nova Scotia construction sites as a Health and Safety Specialist based in Halifax, using inspections, coaching, and incident investigation expertise. Support employees across HRM, surrounding areas, and Cape Breton.
Flynn’s Halifax branch seeks a Health and Safety Specialist reporting to the Regional Health and Safety Manager for Eastern Canada. The position supports provincial sites through policy implementation, employee education, injury management, and safety documentation. Construction safety experience, COR knowledge, and fall protection expertise are central to the work.
Key Responsibilities:
Uphold and coach employees on Flynn health and safety policies
Perform inspections across Nova Scotia construction sites
Manage injuries, WCB matters, and return to work programs
Conduct orientations, incident investigations, and COR audits
Attend safety meetings and complete site safety documents
Requirements:
Minimum five years in construction health and safety
Environmental or occupational health and safety training
Experience with fall protection systems and legislation
Strong administrative, organizational, and computer skills
Valid driver’s license and independent work ability
Bring construction safety leadership, injury management, and practical inspection skills to Flynn’s Halifax-based provincial Health and Safety team.
