Senior Living Maintenance Assistant

Support Cogir Senior Living residents through routine repairs, minor maintenance, and superior customer service while working independently across a retirement residence.
Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the Maintenance Assistant handles facility and equipment repairs within Cogir’s senior living residences. The work includes plumbing, electrical, mechanical, painting, carpentry, grounds maintenance, inspections, and reporting. Housekeeping and other maintenance duties remain part of the assignment.
Key Responsibilities:
Execute routine repairs and minor maintenance on facility equipment
Paint, perform minor carpentry, and maintain exterior grounds
Inspect premises for maintenance and safety concerns
File required reports with the supervisor
Follow facility policies, safety rules, and safe practices
Requirements:
Follow oral and written instructions in English
Work independently and self-regulate effectively
Move heavy objects while performing physical duties
Carry out minor facility and equipment repairs
Provide or obtain a current Vulnerable Sector Check
Apply maintenance, safety, and customer service skills while supporting residents and Cogir Senior Living’s facility operations.
