Lead complex mechanical system design from Kimberley, Northern Cape, using advanced CAD, engineering analysis, and a hybrid work arrangement.
This Senior Mechanical Systems Designer develops industrial machinery throughout the complete design lifecycle. You will create detailed models, validate performance, and collaborate with manufacturing, electrical, and controls engineers. The work emphasizes reliability, manufacturability, integration, and production release.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead complex mechanical system, subsystem, and component design
Create 3D models, assemblies, and 2D manufacturing drawings
Perform stress, thermal, and vibration engineering analysis
Collaborate across engineering teams for system integration
Maintain BOMs and technical documentation
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
Minimum eight years' progressive mechanical design experience
Expert SolidWorks, Inventor, and PDM/PLM proficiency
Experience with FEA and simulation tools
Ability to commute to Kimberley for hybrid work
