Analyze CMHC-insured, conventional, and commercial real estate loans as a Commercial Real Estate Underwriter with Peoples Group. This full-time role offers hybrid work.
Peoples Group is hiring an Underwriting Associate for its Toronto, Vancouver, or Calgary offices. You will apply CMHC policies, corporate lending guidelines, and financial analysis to evaluate transactions. The position combines client communication, documentation review, CRM reporting, and collaboration with Account Managers and regional leadership.
Key Responsibilities:

Evaluate and recommend conventional and CMHC mortgage loans
Coordinate applications from inquiry through formal commitment
Review appraisals, environmental, and building condition reports
Verify CMHC and internal credit documentation for compliance
Execute rate locks and deliver related documentation promptly
Requirements:

Three or more years in commercial real estate finance
Strong understanding of Canadian commercial real estate markets
Proficiency analyzing financial statements for lending decisions
Advanced Microsoft Office data analysis and automation skills
Knowledge of AML and KYC compliance requirements
Bring commercial lending expertise, CMHC knowledge, and disciplined financial analysis to Peoples Group’s underwriting team.
