Registered Psychiatric Nurse Outpatient Care

Deliver client and family centered outpatient nursing care for adults facing moderate to severe mental health concerns in Vancouver.
Vancouver Coastal Health seeks a Registered Nurse or Registered Psychiatric Nurse for its MHSU Outpatient Services team. This nurse provides services for adults aged 19 and older, including care coordination, one-to-one support, psychotherapy, and interdisciplinary input. Care is short term, inclusionary, and focused on integrated services.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan and implement client care plans across the care continuum
Anticipate and respond to complications and care issues
Provide crisis intervention and assess high-risk situations
Develop educational programs and materials for clients and families
Identify barriers and intervene to reduce stigma
Requirements:
Current practicing registration with BCCNM
Three years' recent related experience, or equivalent education and training
Knowledge of the Mental Health Act and client rights
Knowledge of community, social, and mental health resources
Skill performing autonomous practice and relevant standards of care
Use autonomous nursing practice, care planning, education, and crisis skills within Vancouver Coastal Health’s interdisciplinary outpatient team.
