NL Health Services invites applications for two permanent full-time Fee-for-Service Emergency Physicians in the Eastern Rural Zone. The department serves approximately 18,000 people and provides solo physician coverage, with weekday daytime Emergency Nurse Practitioner support. Physicians deliver emergency care across day and night shifts, using point-of-care ultrasound, 24-hour CT scanning, and specialist support.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide comprehensive emergency medicine care across 12-hour shifts
Cover day shifts from 8:00am to 8:00pm
Cover night shifts from 8:00pm to 8:00am
Use point-of-care ultrasound and 24-hour CT resources
Liaise with specialist and interdisciplinary Emergency Department teams
Requirements:
Medical Degree from a recognized institution
Current ACLS and BLS certification
Eligibility for Newfoundland and Labrador medical licensure
Ability to work within a multidisciplinary health care team
Credentialing, privileging, and required background checks
Deliver emergency medicine with ultrasound, CT, and specialist support at Burin Peninsula Health Care Centre in Burin.
