CBC/Radio-Canada seeks a permanent Regional Assignment Editor for French Services at its Sept-Îles station. The position requires advanced French reading, speaking, and writing, plus strong newsroom logistics knowledge. Key Responsibilities:
Monitor regional, national, and international news through varied sources
Select events, create assignments, and coordinate journalist workloads
Assign camera operators and adjust schedules for coverage needs
Guide story angles, documentation, clips, corrections, and follow-up
Prepare intros and ensure newscast items meet deadlines
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification
Five years of journalism experience or equivalent
Extensive general knowledge and regional current-events expertise
Very good platform-specific storytelling knowledge
French fluency; English proficiency is an asset
