Commercial Property Casualty Underwriter

Assess commercial risks and shape pricing decisions as an Underwriter with Definity, using negotiation and broker relationship skills in a hybrid work schedule.
This role handles Commercial property and casualty underwriting for new business, renewals, endorsements, and individual risks. You will evaluate submissions, negotiate acceptance terms, and support broker transactions across property, casualty, fleet, and other product areas. The position requires at least two years of relevant underwriting experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Assess, accept, or decline new business submissions
Negotiate renewals, endorsements, and risk acceptance terms
Make underwriting and pricing decisions on individual risks
Develop and maintain positive broker relationships
Coordinate transactions spanning multiple product areas
Requirements:
Two or more years in Commercial property and casualty underwriting
Post-secondary education or pertinent equivalent experience
Completed or committed CIP or FCIP designation
Strong written, verbal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills
Advanced Microsoft Office knowledge in PC-oriented environments
