Prepare patient meals as a Cook at Southlake Health in Newmarket, Ontario, using culinary skills and HACCP food-safety practices.
This permanent casual position supports hospital food services and patient care. You will prepare hot and cold foods, portion meals, review dietary information, and maintain kitchen sanitation. The work also includes meal-tray preparation, inventory control, and occasional delivery assistance.
Key Responsibilities:

Prepare hot and cold food items
Follow HACCP requirements at specified preparation times
Prepare meal trays for patient delivery
Maintain sanitation, storage, rotation, and labelling standards
Support food ordering and department evaluations
Requirements:

Minimum Grade 12 education
At least one year of healthcare, long-term-care, or banquet cooking experience
Red Seal certification or equivalent culinary diploma
HACCP training and strong commercial kitchen skills
Ability to follow legislated health and safety standards
Bring culinary expertise, dietary preparation, and HACCP knowledge to support patients, families, and healthcare teams at Southlake Health.
