Assistant Cook Supportive Housing

Prepare therapeutic meals as an Assistant Cook at Stony Plains Terrace in Beausejour, serving supportive housing residents and diverse community groups. Work days, evenings, and weekends.
Under the Manager, Support Services and Cook, the Assistant Cook prepares regular, therapeutic, and texture modified meals. The position supports residents, patients, staff, volunteers, Meals on Wheels, Adult Day, visitors, and catering. Food safety, sanitation, portion control, and courteous customer service remain central responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare regular, therapeutic, and texture modified meals
Serve food to residents, patients, staff, and visitors
Receive food and maintain portion control
Support Meals on Wheels, Adult Day, and catering
Maintain safety, sanitation, and customer service standards
Requirements:
Minimum Grade 11 education
Valid Food Handlers Certificate within six months
Knowledge of therapeutic diets and texture modification
Three years commercial food services experience preferred
Ability to operate required equipment and communicate effectively
Bring quantity cooking, therapeutic diet knowledge, and dependable food service skills to Interlake-Eastern Regional Health Authority.
