Addictions Counsellor Winnipeg Health Region
Winnipeg Regional Health Authority (WRHA)
Support addiction and alcohol-related care with assessment and counselling skills across Winnipeg Health Region services. This role serves individuals, couples, and families.
Reporting to the Program Supervisor, the Rehabilitation Counsellor provides client-centred treatment services. Duties include intake, assessment, referrals, case management, treatment planning, educational sessions, and continuing care. Knowledge of addictions and mental health supports service delivery within a complex system.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct treatment services for individuals, couples, and families
Complete intake and assessment for addiction-related concerns
Provide counselling, referrals, and case management
Develop treatment plans and continuing care services
Facilitate educational sessions and community activities
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree with one year supervised counselling experience
Or applied counselling diploma with two years’ experience
Knowledge of addictions and mental health fields
Motivational Interviewing training or experience
Active regulatory body membership where applicable
