Deliver perioperative nursing care in person at Victoria General Hospital, using assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation throughout surgery. This is a 0.80 FTE maternity term in Winnipeg.
The Winnipeg Regional Health Authority seeks a Registered Nurse for OR - VGH within its Clinical job stream. The nurse provides continuity of care during the perioperative period and supports patient needs during surgical intervention. Current perioperative nursing experience is required, with AORN Periop 101 training available for qualified applicants without previous operating room experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Promote and comply with perioperative nursing policies and procedures
Provide continuity of care throughout the perioperative period
Assess patients undergoing surgical intervention
Plan, implement, and evaluate perioperative nursing interventions
Meet individual patient needs during surgical care
Requirements:
Graduate of an approved Registered Nursing education program
Current perioperative nursing experience required
Maintain registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba
Demonstrate communication, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
Meet CPR requirements and physical effort demands
