Mechanical Construction Estimator

Mechanical estimating expertise meets EllisDon’s complex construction projects, from early budgets through guaranteed maximum price submissions and final bids.
This intermediate or senior Mechanical Estimator prepares estimates across pre-construction and project phases. You will review drawings, contracts, scope narratives, and tender documents while coordinating mechanical scopes with architectural, civil, structural, and electrical estimators. The work includes quantity take-offs, subcontractor quotes, risk review, and client-facing budget discussions.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare pre-construction, design-build, and stipulated price estimates
Complete quantity take-offs for labor, equipment, and materials
Coordinate scope delineation with multidisciplinary estimators
Review quotes, identify scope gaps, and manage budget risks
Maintain labor, material, and project cost databases
Requirements:
Intermediate or senior mechanical estimating experience
Knowledge of estimating strategies and construction contracts
Ability to interpret engineering drawings and cost coding systems
Experience with mission-critical, industrial, pharmaceutical, or life science projects
Knowledge of plumbing, fire protection, HVAC, and BAS/BMS
Bring mechanical estimating, quantity take-off, and construction contract knowledge to EllisDon’s multidisciplinary pre-construction team.
