Enterprise Learning Operations Director

Shape enterprise learning operations at Canada Life through portfolio management, workforce planning, and technology roadmaps. This permanent full-time leadership role is available in four Canadian head office locations.
The Director, L&D Operations will build the systems and ways of working that connect learning demand with priorities and capacity. You will guide operational services, learning platforms, data, investment decisions, vendor performance, and financial planning. The mandate includes creating transparency, discipline, and dependable support across L&D.
Key Responsibilities:
Translate L&D strategy into operating plans and decision rights
Lead and develop the multidisciplinary L&D Operations team
Manage learning assignments, catalogues, tuition, and production support
Oversee budgets, forecasts, chargebacks, invoices, and vendors
Champion continuous improvement, responsible automation, and approved AI practices
Requirements:
Seven or more years in operations, learning, HR, or related fields
Experience with platforms, integrations, automation, or digital transformation
Strong analytical skills using operational and financial data
Sound judgment recommending trade-offs under competing priorities
Experience leading complex change through sustained results
Bring enterprise operations leadership, learning technology expertise, financial acumen, and change experience to Canada Life’s L&D function.
