Mining Engineering Project Manager

Shape mining outcomes through project management, technical studies, and client engagement with AMC Consultants, now part of AFRY, in North America.
This Senior or Principal Mining Engineer supports the Open Pit & Geosciences team through collaborative consulting delivery. You will manage assignments, coordinate technical work, maintain accurate documentation, and communicate outcomes to clients. The position also includes mentoring junior engineers, supporting business development, and applying practical experience across mine planning and open pit operations. AMC and AFRY bring mining consultancy, engineering, project delivery, and sustainability capabilities together across the mining lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities:
Serve as Project Manager for consulting assignments when necessary
Coordinate project risks, quality, budgets, and timely delivery
Prepare technical reports and maintain current project documentation
Support junior engineer development through mentoring and guidance
Build effective relationships with clients and stakeholders
Requirements:
Minimum seven years of mining industry experience
Degree in Mining Engineering or related discipline
Leadership, collaboration, and stakeholder relationship-building abilities
Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving capabilities
Commitment to professionalism, integrity, and ethical standards
Use mining engineering leadership, project management, and stakeholder skills to deliver high-quality consulting results for AMC and AFRY clients.
