Machine Learning Model Risk Lead
Affirm
Lead independent challenges of machine learning models at affirm, with remote-first flexibility and focus on credit and fraud risk.
This Model Risk Management Lead role supports an effective framework across affirm. You will validate and monitor models, identify weaknesses, and help mitigate risks from ineffective design or misuse. The work requires experience in model validation, data science, and machine learning modeling.
Key Responsibilities:
Challenge machine learning models independently through validation and monitoring
Identify model weaknesses and improvement opportunities
Collaborate with model owners on validation findings
Maintain affirm's Model Risk Management framework
Resolve audit and regulatory requests with partners
Requirements:
Four to six years in related technical areas
Knowledge of credit underwriting, credit risk, or fraud detection
Proficiency with Python and large-scale SQL datasets
Experience with scikit-learn, pyspark, and cloud environments
Quantitative degree and strong critical thinking skills
Apply machine learning validation, Python, and credit risk expertise to strengthen affirm's model risk oversight remotely.
