Staff Agentic AI Engineer

Lead agentic AI architecture at Robots & Pencils, using Python, AWS, and production-focused engineering judgment across end-to-end systems.
As a Staff AI Builder, you will lead AI/ML system design, model development, optimization, and integration. You will guide architectural decisions, establish engineering standards, and shape reliable, secure, scalable systems. Your work spans agentic workflows, RAG pipelines, evaluation, observability, and cloud-native services.
Key Responsibilities:
Design agentic workflows across single-agent and multi-agent architectures
Build RAG pipelines with embeddings, OpenSearch, and re-ranking
Integrate AWS Bedrock, Agent Core, and MCP-based tools
Develop production prompts, evaluations, guardrails, and tracing
Own features, releases, debugging, hardening, and production reliability
Requirements:
Six-plus years of professional software engineering experience
Production experience shipping GenAI or LLM-powered systems
Hands-on depth with tool calling and agent orchestration
Practical RAG expertise, including vector search and re-ranking
Experience with AWS Bedrock, Lambda, DynamoDB, SQS, and EventBridge
Shape trustworthy AI systems through agentic architecture, RAG, evaluation, observability, and technical leadership at Robots & Pencils.
