Lead multimodal machine learning research in Canada, combining sensor fusion and computer vision to model human movement, effort, and physiology.
As a Staff Machine Learning Engineer, you will shape foundation models using synchronized sensor, video, and physiological data. Your work spans biomechanics, signal processing, and human motion understanding. You will connect foundational research with product development supporting intelligent coaching, movement feedback, personalized training, and musculoskeletal health applications.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead multimodal foundation model research and development
Design self-supervised pretraining for heterogeneous time-series data
Develop sensor fusion methods for noisy, incomplete modalities
Advance two-dimensional and three-dimensional human pose estimation
Mentor colleagues and define scientific technical direction
Requirements:
Strong publication record in relevant conferences or journals
PhD or equivalent research experience in a related discipline
Expertise in sensor fusion, biomechanics, signals, or computer vision
Transformer architecture experience, including multimodal tokenization
End-to-end machine learning development with PyTorch, JAX, or TensorFlow
Apply machine learning, biomechanics, sensor fusion, and computer vision expertise to human movement research in Canada.
