Lead distributed systems engineering for MongoDB’s AI application platform, based anywhere in Canada within the Eastern Time zone.
As a Staff Engineer, you will provide technical direction for core platform components enabling customers to build AI applications with MongoDB. You will guide teams developing scalable AI deployment technologies. The work focuses on distributed systems infrastructure, architecture, performance, scalability, and reliability.
Key Responsibilities:

Define the service’s first version and future evolution
Design and deliver well-tested core platform components
Shape architecture, code reviews, and development practices
Improve developer experience as teams and products grow
Mentor engineers and own complex technical projects
Requirements:

8+ years building distributed systems or foundational cloud services
Strong background in high-scale compute and data systems
Experience with Python, Go, and Java
Experience designing, testing, debugging, and tuning distributed software
Technical communication and collaborative leadership skills
