Senior Distributed Systems Engineer ML

This Senior Software Development Engineer role sits within Workday’s AI Model Serving team. You will build and operate large-scale distributed systems supporting thousands of traditional machine learning models and high-throughput AI workloads. Your work includes platform architecture, production reliability, monitoring, cost visibility, and integrations with vendor-hosted models on GCP and AWS Bedrock.
Key Responsibilities:
Build scalable systems for moving machine learning models into production
Maintain platform reliability through alert response and production debugging
Design monitoring for system health, performance, and cost
Evaluate technologies across Workday and the broader industry
Document systems and share knowledge with engineers
Requirements:
Six or more years building and operating distributed systems
Bachelor’s degree in a related technical field or equivalent
Deep experience designing production-grade, high-throughput platforms
Deep proficiency writing production-level Python code
Understanding of LLM and traditional ML model operations
Bring distributed systems, Python, monitoring, and machine learning platform experience to Workday’s high-throughput AI infrastructure.
