School District Journeyman Painter

Apply journeyman painting expertise across school district facilities, supervising maintenance staff and protecting safe, well-maintained interiors and exteriors. Work forty hours weekly.
This Painter position supports the district’s physical plant and reports to the Facilities Supervisor or designate. The role requires painting experience, supervisory ability, blueprint reading, colour mixing, and minor repair knowledge. Twelve-month employment supports ongoing facility maintenance.
Key Responsibilities:

Maintain building interior and exterior appearance as required
Supervise maintenance staff engaged in painting work
Ensure safe, efficient scaffolding use
Instruct workers on preparation methods and related tools
Estimate repairs and maintain supply inventories
Requirements:

Valid journeyman certificate
At least two years of private-sector painting experience
Ability to read blueprints and lay out work
Demonstrated supervisory ability
Strength for manual tasks and adverse weather work
Use painting, supervision, safety, and maintenance skills to support school district facilities throughout the year.
