Apply general maintenance skills at Northern College, repairing facilities and operating grounds equipment. This is a full-time leave replacement position with 40 hours weekly.
Reporting to the Manager, Facilities and Maintenance, the General Maintenance Worker completes timely repairs, maintenance, and services supporting staff and student safety. The work includes grounds keeping, building finish repairs, minor plumbing, and equipment maintenance. Candidates need relevant training, building maintenance experience, and practical trade skills.
Key Responsibilities:

Perform snow removal, lawn mowing, and general grounds keeping
Operate tractors, walk-behind equipment, vehicles, and grounds equipment
Repair floors, ceilings, drywall, windows, doors, and caulking
Perform minor plumbing and routine HVAC equipment maintenance
Inspect fire safety and emergency equipment monthly
Requirements:

One-year certificate in a relevant or related field
At least two years of large building maintenance experience
Experience with mobile equipment, small engines, compressors, and hydraulics
Valid Class G driver's licence and WHMIS certification
First Aid, CPR, AED, carpentry, plumbing, and welding skills
Support Northern College facilities through grounds maintenance, building repairs, equipment operation, and practical troubleshooting skills.
